Highland Perthshire Marathon Race Report

We travelled up to Pitlochry a few Fridays ago so I could run the Highland Perthshire Marathon as a training run for my target Marathon in Loch Ness this coming weekend. My schedule had me down to run a 20 mile training run that weekend so my goal from the race was simply to get a good long slow run in without worrying too much about my finishing time. As the course was two laps of a Half Marathon course I planned to take the first lap steady and see what I had left for the second and ease off if needed.

Counting to Ten With Triplets

From last winter. It's amazing what you can find to entertain three children on a cold weekend morning!

I'm planning an attempt on the alphabet for this winter....

"One Born Every Minute" programme review

I need to preface this post by saying that programmes about childbirth are not normally my preferred viewing, but I'd heard so much pre-broadcast chat amongst our friends in the multiple families community about last night's "One Born Every Minute" special on twins and triplets on Channel 4 that I had to watch, and I'm glad I did as it was a very heart-warming programme that dealt skilfully with the realities of a multiple birth and had Tess and I reliving our own experiences of when our three were born 7 years ago.

Highland Perthshire Marathon Countdown

The first running of the Highland Perthshire marathon is taking place this Saturday, the 1st September. I don't normally enter first runnings of marathons as I find it's better to let them bed in for a few years before taking part but this is actually my second marathon of 2012 where I'm taking part in an inaugural event, following on from the ill-fated Hull marathon on Easter Sunday where after much debate the results were declared null and void due to the official course measurement certificate being withdrawn after the event. Let's hope the HP marathon has a better first year than Hull.

Triplets news round up

Lots of triplets school news at the moment at both ends of the education spectrum as some triplets start school for the first time and others complete their secondary school studies and look forward to life afterwards.

A new school year - P3 is here

It's hard to believe the summer holidays are over already and the girls are back at school. It only seems like yesterday that I was putting all their school bags and back and forth folders away thinking it would be ages before I'd need to dig them out again.
